Do you want to decorate your house or garden in an original way? Try to make a topiary with your own hands - a decorative miracle tree in the form of a bizarre fantasy ball on a high leg, also called the tree of happiness.

Domesticated artificial topiary are congeners of living topiary sculptures. For curly cutting of plants on summer cottage It will take a lot of skill, but absolutely everyone can grow their own tree of happiness.

It will not be difficult to get a ready-made tree, and even in the most luxurious version of amethyst, citrine, coral or crystal, but how can you buy happiness?It's in our hands! It is with them that we will "sculpt" our happiness.

Topiary is created from a variety of natural and decorative materials - fresh and artificial flowers, coffee beans, beautiful shells, pebbles, dried flowers, paper, sweets, cocktail umbrellas ...

Topiary can serve as an imitation of a real plant, or acquire completely fabulous shapes and colors. The sizes of topiary range from miniature dwarf compositions a la bonsai to the size of solid indoor trees. An excellent gift option is a fresh fruit topiary. But such a masterpiece cannot boast of durability. Topiary made from aromatic plants is very popular, serving not only as an excellent interior decoration, but also filling the air with wondrous aromas. Learning to make topiary: "anatomy" of the tree of happiness Mastering the art of creating home topiary is not difficult. Even a beginner in hand-made can cope with this task perfectly. In addition, all the materials necessary for topiary are affordable and can always be found on sale.

To make a topiary, you will need:

Pot

The diameter of the pot should not exceed the diameter of the ball-crown. You can buy a ready-made pot or make it yourself from a container of the desired shape, and then paint it, cover it with a cloth or decorate it in some other original way. In fact, choosing a pot that is suitable for a product in style and color is not an easy task, so if you first bought a pot, most likely, you will have to come up with a composition for it.

Crown ball

To create a crown, you need a plastic or paper ball. You can make a paper ball out of crumpled paper or newspaper, and then coat the ball with paste or wrap it with threads. Rubber balls are more difficult to use as they lose their shape when punctured. If the decorative elements do not stick, but stick in, a foam ball is perfect for floral arrangements.

Barrel stick

A branch or any suitable stick, such as a blinds stick, which is subsequently painted or wrapped in ribbons, will do. It is advisable to choose a stick longer, because it will be fastened in a pot almost to the base and a ball will be put on it. A barrel that is too short can ruin the whole composition.

Glue

Any all-purpose adhesive will work great. Individual items may require super glue, a glue gun, or liquid nails.

Cement, gypsum, alabaster

We glue the hole in the bottom of the pot. Having prepared the solution, stir it quickly, pour it into a pot and immediately insert the stick-barrel until the solution has frozen. The cement will prevent the ball-crown from outweighing the pot. But if the pot is already heavy enough, the cement can be replaced with polyurethane foam.

Pebbles, sand, shells, colored salt, beans ...

They are glued on top of the mortar at the base of the tree.

Accessories for decorating a tree

Dried flowers, artificial flowers, shells, pebbles, cones, bows, cocktail umbrellas, coffee beans, beans, pistachios, shells, corrugated paper and whatever else comes to your mind.

Photo master class:

  • Necessary materials:
  • 100 grams roasted coffee sippy cup (available at your office supply store)
  • whitewash brush (available at a hardware store, hardware store, or market)
  • 1 plastic ball, 8-9 cm in diameter (such balls are widely used in children's playrooms and are sold individually on the market)
  • scissors
  • spool of brown thread
  • 2 rubber bands for money
  • universal transparent glue
  • transparent super glue
  • a glass of sand, cement or gypsum
  • wooden stick or branch 20 cm long and 1.5-2 cm thick
  • twine rope 50 cm

How to do:

1. With scissors in a plastic ball, carefully make one hole, where a little later we will insert the "trunk" of our tree.

2. We take a whitewash brush and pull out a strand of wetted from it, or, removing the ropes, completely disassemble the brush.

3. Using an elastic band for money, we fix the thread of the bast on one end of the branch. Lubricate the branch with universal glue and spirally glue the future "trunk" with a thread. At the other end of the branch, we again fix the thread with a money elastic band and insert the "trunk" into the ball, which will act as a crown.

4. With the help of universal glue, we glue the ball with brown threads to greatly facilitate and speed up the process of gluing coffee beans. You can also use strands from a whitewash brush to glue the ball, but thread is much better and easier.

5. Now we proceed to pasting the ball with the first layer of coffee beans. For this we need a transparent super glue. It is advisable to glue the seeds in a different order - with a groove down and up. We apply glue directly to each grain. Super-glue should be used very carefully, because it leaves white spots on dark grains, quickly sticks tightly to the hands and has a pungent smell, so it is advisable to "grow" your tree of happiness in a well-ventilated room. You can also use a glue gun or liquid nails.

6. One layer of grains will not be enough, so be sure to make the second one. To give the surface texture more relief, do not forget to alternate the smooth side of the grains with the one with the groove.

7. It's time to start creating an original pot for our tree of happiness. First of all, we cut off a little washcloth from the brush, the length of which should be slightly more than the diameter of the bottom of the glass. Then we grease the bottom with universal glue and put it on the prepared sponge. Cut the threads protruding beyond the bottom edges.

8. Now we cut the washcloth from the brush so that it is 3 cm longer than the height of the glass. Apply universal glue to the side surface of the glass, 2.5-3 cm before reaching the top, and gradually glue the glass with prepared sponge. Tie the glued glass with twine from below and cut off the excess edges. We trim the tips from above so that the threads are about 2 cm above the edge of the glass.

9. With all-purpose adhesive long strands wetted, glue the funnel in a circle and screw the trunk of the tree into it.

Topiary ("tree of happiness", "European tree") is a small decorative tree that is used to decorate interiors and exteriors, and is also often used for. Topiary are good because they look very beautiful, and you can make them with your own hands in just 1 evening from scrap materials.

  • This means that you can make several decorations at once, for example, one pair for New Year's serving, another for Easter, and a couple more for the mantelpiece.

In this material you will find 1 basic instruction on how to make a DIY topiary for beginners, as well as 3 step-by-step master classes in addition to it and 45 photo ideas for inspiration.

Basic instruction for beginners

Topiary of even the most complex design is made approximately according to the same principle. Having mastered the basic manufacturing technology, you can create a variety of topiary, changing only the materials for decoration.

So, to make a mini-tree with your own hands, you need to create it:

  • Crown;
  • Trunk;
  • The base of the tree.

Step 1. Planning the design

Topiary can be different not only in design, but also in terms of service life. Before starting work, think about why you need a “tree of happiness” and where will it live? The purpose and future place of the topiary will determine its style, color scheme and even the materials for its creation.

If you want to make topiary for, then materials that are not too durable can be used - paper, napkins, sweets, fresh flowers, fruits. If you want to make a topiary as a gift or to decorate the interior, then it is better to use a more reliable decor - cones, artificial flowers, coffee beans, ribbons, organza, etc.

In the next selection of photos, you can get ideas for the design of thematic and festive topiary.

And here is a selection of photo examples of design exclusively for interior topiary (scroll through!).

Step 2. Preparation of materials

To make a topiary with your own hands, you will need:

  • Foam ball with a diameter of 8-12 cm(sold at many stationery and art stores) or a floral foam ball (sold at gardening and flower shops).

If desired, the ball can be made independently from polystyrene, the same floral foam, polyurethane foam, papier-mâché, etc. etc.

  • Crown decor - depending on your idea, use flowers, satin ribbons, organza, coffee beans, banknotes, etc.
  • Trunk - This can be made from a dry and clean branch, a simple pencil, or any other stick. In addition, the trunk and the pot can be replaced by a tall candlestick.
  • Trunk decor- the barrel can at least be coated with matt varnish or painted. And as a maximum - wrap with one or two ribbons.
  • Planter - It's best to pour the mixture into a clay pot, but any cute cups, mugs, vintage buckets, etc. will also work.
  • Fixing mixture- the best for making topiary with your own hands is a mixture of alabaster, as it quickly hardens, almost does not crack and is cheap. You can also use a cement-sand mortar, gypsum or filler. However, not only binding mixtures can fix a tree in a pot, but also the same foam, floral foam or stones.
  • Everything for mixing the mixture- container, water, stick, etc.
  • Decor for masking fixing mix- to create an imitation of the soil cover, it is best to use natural materials: dry moss, small pebbles, expanded clay, sisal fiber. Artificial moss and rocks will also work. You can put sweets and dragees in the pots of "edible" topiary.
  • Glue gun and a few sticks of glue- if necessary, it can be replaced with glue like "Moment", but it is best not to do this, since the glue in the gun is more convenient, and most importantly, it allows you to remove random "cobwebs".
  • Scissors or cutter.
  • Tailor's pins-studs with a very small cap(optional, used in addition to or instead of glue, for example, for fastening beads).
  • Side cutters or wire cutters for cutting the trunk or any decorative elements.

At the preparatory stage, divide the decorative details for the crown into groups - for example, large, medium and small. So it will be more convenient for you to alternate the decor and distribute it evenly over the ball.

Step 3. Creation of the crown

First, you need to apply markings to the ball - mark the place for attaching the trunk and mark the border around it, beyond which until some time you do not need to go by sticking the decor. Thanks to this technique, in the future you can easily fix the barrel in the ball without spoiling the decor.

As soon as the glue warms up, proceed to decorate the ball in the following order: "fitting" the part without glue - applying glue to the desired place - fixing the part. Remember to act quickly so that the glue does not have time to soak into the foam. That is why it is better to apply and try on the decor first.

Here are a few more nuances:

  • You need to glue the decor on the ball, starting with large elements and ending with small ones. For example, if you are making a topiary from artificial flowers, then first glue the largest buds on the ball, then the medium ones, and only then - the small flowers and additional beads.
  • Some decor can be secured to the ball using tailor's pins. But it is best to combine the carnations with glue.
  • If some parts have wire bases (for example, the same artificial flowers), then about 2 cm should be left from their "tails". Then you can not only glue the decor, but also stick it into the ball.
  • To make the white base ball less visible in the gaps between the glued parts, it can be painted to match the decor.

Now we need to work with the trunk. As already mentioned, making it with your own hands is not at all difficult from a branch, pencil or any stick.

If you use a branch, then it is not necessary to paint it, but only to cover it with a matte varnish so that the natural beauty of the tree is visible. If you use a wooden stick, then it can only be slightly tinted, artificially aged, etc. If you want to mask the surface of the barrel completely, then you can wrap satin ribbons, fabric, paper, rope around it, or completely paint it.

How long should it be? Since the trunk goes deep both into the pot and into the ball, you can calculate its length using the following formula:

  • Barrel length = 1/3 ball diameter + pot height + desired barrel length between crown and pot.

To attach the trunk, you need to make a hole in the ball about 2-3 cm deep in the ball at the markup site with an awl and a knife (depending on its size). When the hole is ready, fill the bottom with hot glue and push the crown onto the barrel until it stops. Then continue to hold the barrel and gradually fill the hole with glue around the barrel.

  • Keep in mind that the thermal glue will melt the foam and deepen the hole even further. To prevent the trunk from going deeper into the crown by more than 1/3 of its diameter, small pieces of paper can be placed between the layers of glue.

Once the barrel locks into the ball, mask the attachment point with decor.

Step 5. Preparing the binder mixture and fixing the tree in the pot

Now is the time to "plant" the resulting tree in a pot. For this you need:

  • After stepping back about 2.5 cm from the edge of the pot, put a mark - the mixture will be poured to this level. If there is a hole in the bottom of the pot, you need to close it with tape or hot glue.

  • Dilute the mixture according to the manufacturer's instructions and fill the pot with it.
  • Align and fix the topiary in the pot, holding the stem until the mixture hardens.
  • Leave the mixture overnight until it dries completely.

Hint: As noted, it is best to use alabaster as a binder. To fill 1 medium pot, you need to dilute about 1 kg of alabaster with 600 ml of water. The mixture is kneaded for about 1-2 minutes until the consistency of thick sour cream, and then quickly poured into a pot and the topiary is fixed in it for 2-3 minutes.

Hooray! The topiary is almost ready, all that remains is to create an imitation of soil in a pot and mask the fixing mixture. If you are using sisal fiber (see photo), shells, artificial grass or moss, then you need to fix them with a little glue.

Master class 1. Corrugated paper topiary

Topiary with paper flowers is especially suitable for decorating a festive table or festive interior decoration. So, for example, this rose topiary was made for Valentine's Day.

Materials:

  • Base ball with a diameter of 12 cm;
  • Medium-weight corrugated (crepe) paper (in the master class, corrugated paper in the form of a ribbon is used, but you can use regular rolls);
  • Floral foam sticks and / or any fixing mixture (see basic instructions);
  • Planter or flowerpot for the base of the topiary;
  • The trunk is about 30 cm long;
  • Dry moss for pot decoration;
  • Barrel decoration tape;
  • Glue gun.

Step 1. Cut the corrugated paper into strips 60 cm long and about 4.5-5 cm wide. If the paper is too thick and stiff, remember the strips a little to make them more flexible.

Step 2. Now you need to roll the resulting ribbons into rosebuds. This is done very simply, just a couple of workouts and the principle becomes clear. Take one of the resulting paper strips and fold it 1/3 as shown in the photo below.

Then fold one end of the tape diagonally at a 45-degree angle and start rolling it into a roll. After three turns, you have the core of the bud. Now wrap the free end to the outside, and continue to roll the core of the rose - woo-ala, you have the first petal.

Step 4. Once the crown is completely covered with roses, attach the trunk to it (see. Basic instructions). In this master class, the barrel was pre-painted with spray paint in white.

Step 6. Lay the dry moss on the "soil" and glue it in some places with thermal glue. Finally, tie a bow to the trunk.

In the next selection of photos, other ideas for the design of topiary are presented, which you can do with your own hands in this master class, not only from corrugated paper, but also from satin ribbons, paper in silence, etc.

By the way, paper can be used to make not only roses, but also lush peonies or hydrangeas. Methods for making such flowers are easy to find on the Internet.

Surely many people want to have a tree of happiness at home. In the master classes, we will tell you how to make a topiary from napkins, coffee beans and corrugated paper.

It is believed that topiary is a tree of happiness. Such a gift will be appropriate for any holiday. For the New Year, you can make a tree and decorate it with tinsel and garlands. It would be nice on Valentine's Day to give the other half a topiary on which hearts and valentines "grow". The tree presented below will never wither, and such a gift will delight for a long time the one to whom you present it or will become another attribute of the comfort of your home.

To create such a delicate graceful tree, you will need the following materials:
  • pink and green corrugated paper;
  • foam ball;
  • PVA glue;
  • wooden stick;
  • scissors;
  • spray paint;
  • satin ribbon;
  • decorative moss;
  • floristic sponge;
  • flower pot or planter.

To make roses from corrugated paper, cut them into strips 24 cm long and 3-4 cm wide.

The size of the paper bands can be different. It all depends on what size you plan to make the composition and flowers.

Now fold the large edge of the paper strip about a third of its width.

Starting on the small side, twist the workpiece as shown in the photo.

At the same time, twist the lower edge of the tape more tightly, and the upper, bent, slightly weaker. Then it will be seen that the rose petals are blooming.

Use PVA to glue the flower to the top of the ball. In the same way, you need to make other roses from corrugated paper and attach them to the base.

Try to stick flowers as much as possible closer friend to friend. Decorate the entire Styrofoam sphere this way.

If you don't have a foam ball, replace it with a plastic one. You can twist the paper, tie it with string to make it round, and use that kind of backing.

This is what you should get after all the flowers are glued. If you want the pink color to set off the leaves, make them out of green corrugated paper, but the stripes should be shorter and slightly narrower than the ribbons for roses.

We continue to create corrugated paper topiary. Cutting the floristic sponge to fit the diameter of the planter, put it inside the pot.

Pre-paint the wooden stick, let it dry. Stick this blank with one side into the ball, and the other into the sponge, fix in these places with glue so that the structure holds better.

Hide the sponge under a small layer of decorative moss, tie a satin bow to the strip, and then you will have a beautiful corrugated paper topiary.

Such a tree can be made by a child under the strict guidance of dad and presented to mom and grandmother on March 8. This creation will decorate the festive table. If you make several of these trees, they will perfectly fit into the interior of the room where a wedding is celebrated or a fun party is taking place.

To make the roses blend in with the environment, you can make them from corrugated paper of another suitable color.

How to make corrugated paper roses?

In order to decorate our tree in this way, we will twist roses for it with a knitting needle. Right now you will learn how to make such flowers with your own hands and decorate a topiary with them.

For needlework, you must have:

  • paper napkins;
  • knitting needle;
  • scissors;
  • spool of thread;
  • glue gun or Titan glue;
  • wand;
  • corrugated paper.
To make paper flowers, unfold the napkin. They are sold folded in four. Cut along the folds so that from one you get 4 squares.

Buy the cheapest and easiest single wipes. And you can not only save money, but also make flowers, the blanks for which are perfectly draped.

Place the first square on the table and a knitting needle on one side that is closer to you. With a movement away from you, start winding a napkin on it, not reaching the edge opposite 3–4 cm.

Slide the opposite ends of the resulting roller towards each other, and then carefully remove the napkin from the needle.

Now, starting from one edge, roll this blank into a roller. In this case, the roller should be at the top, and the free, not wound side, at the bottom. Attach exactly the same second blank to this one and continue to twist the corrugated paper rose in a spiral.

Depending on how luxuriant you are planning to make the flower, you will need 3-5 blanks, from which you will make one rose.

This is how beautiful the paper flower turned out.

Tie it up with a thread from below, and cut off its "tail".

To make topiary leaves, place 2 green napkins obliquely one on top of the other, as shown in the photo.

Crumple them in the form of a bag, tie at the bottom with a thread.

Create a lush tree from flowers

Now we need to collect topiary from blanks and other materials. This can be done as in the case of corrugated paper wood. For a base like this, wrapping paper is fine. It must be crumpled in the form of a ball, tied with twine. All sorts of office drafts, unnecessary papers will do. The main thing is to give the workpiece a round shape by aligning it. Then glue napkins on top and let the ball dry.

Now stick the leaves and flowers on the resulting blank.

Well, you read above how to attach a stick to an already decorated ball, put it in a pot.

A floral or ordinary sponge can be draped not only with decorative moss, but also with such small bags made of green napkins. To do this, they are folded obliquely and the corner is fastened with a stapler.

This is what a wonderful creative result is at the end of the work.

Other options for corrugated paper roses

If you want fluffier flowers, check out another way to create a napkin topiary.

For this process, you need the following equipment and materials:

  • napkins of the desired color;
  • scissors;
  • a small sheet of cardboard;
  • stapler;
  • glue.
To make flowers, fold the napkin in half 2 times and secure in the middle with a stapler. Cut a round template out of cardboard, place it on a folded napkin, and cut it to fit.

Crumple the top layer of the napkin at the base. Then, the second and subsequent layers.

If you want to finish this work as soon as possible, then crush 2 layers at once. If you have a ball with a diameter of 20 cm, then you need to make 48 blanks from napkins to cover it all with flowers.

If you don't have a stick for a tree trunk, then you can make a paper topiary without one. In this case, simply put the round blank-ball in a flower pots or a basket made of newspapers.

Now, using a heat gun or glue, attach the flowers made by yourself to the ball. Start at the bottom first row, gradually working your way up. If you alternate roses like this, creating a topiary with your own hands (the next step-by-step photo demonstrates the process), then you will have an amazing flowering tree.

A basket or pot can be decorated with satin ribbons, and you will get such an amazing result.

DIY gift - heart of grains

Here is another example of how you can make your own topiary. The master class will explain every step of the handicraft process.

Such a topiary can be made and presented not only to your soul mate on Valentine's Day, but also presented to a dear person, a relative on February 23, on his birthday, a friend - on March 8.

To create such a fragrant coffee topiary, you will need:

  • twine;
  • brown satin ribbon;
  • coffee beans;
  • glue;
  • cup and saucer;
  • brown paint;
  • alabaster or gypsum;
  • thick brown threads;
  • anise stars.
Cut the blank base for the heart out of polystyrene or make of polyurethane foam. You can also make it out of cardboard, newspapers, giving the desired shape. Now cover the heart with brown paint, let it dry. Then wrap the workpiece with brown thread, forming a loop at the top.

Glue 2 rows of grains on the sides of the heart, while they should be placed with the flat side down. Then fill in the middle in the same way.

To make the workpiece three-dimensional, the base does not show through, glue the second layer of grains on one side and the other, with slots upward. The final touch to this step is gluing the star anise in the center.

And then he tells how to make a do-it-yourself topiary master class. Take a piece of wire and wind its base around the leg of a table or chair. Bend as shown in the photo and wrap with twine, gluing each section of the rope to the wire.

Bend the end of the wire in larger turns, attach a heart of coffee beans here, putting it on the loop.

Pour alabaster or gypsum into a container, which you do not mind throwing away later, add water to get the consistency of sour cream. Place the lower part of the wire in the cup, fill it with the resulting mass, leave to solidify completely, leveling the surface. When this happens, glue 2 layers of grains on top.

How to make a coffee tree with your own hands?

If you liked to create from this interesting material, create another coffee bean topiary. It is performed almost on the same principle as the previous one, but the ball is taken as the basis.

Here's what you need to prepare before starting work:

  • even coffee beans;
  • ball with a diameter of 8 cm;
  • flower pots or other suitable container;
  • glue gun;
  • a plastic tube 25 in length and 1.2 cm in diameter (if not, use a piece of plastic pipe or a wooden stick;
  • alabaster;
  • nylon and satin ribbon;
  • Double-sided tape;
  • scissors;
  • container for mixing the solution.
Use scissors to make a hole in the ball to match the diameter of the tree trunk. Glue the coffee beans to this area, trying to place them close to each other.

You can leave the ball like this, but it is better to glue the second row of grains to it, placing them in strips upward. Then a coffee tree made with your own hands will look more attractive and aesthetically pleasing. Here's what you should get at this stage.

Now wrap double-sided tape around the stick or tube, 3 cm short of both ends, and tape on top of it.

To measure how much water is needed for the solution, pour it into the container in which the coffee topiary will be located. Then pour it into a mixing bowl, add alabaster and stir well. The consistency of the solution will resemble thick sour cream.

Immediately transfer the resulting mass to a pot, place a tree of coffee beans in the center of it. When the solution hardens, glue on its surface first one and then the second row of grains, in the same way as we did above - first with a strip down, and then, the second row with a strip up.

Apply glue to the top of the barrel and slide the hole of the round blank over it.

It remains to decorate the crown with anise stars, tie a bow, and the magnificent coffee tree is ready.

If you liked the lessons on making topiary, you want to see clearly how to make a coffee tree with your own hands with a crown in the shape of a heart or a ball, watch two videos. And the third will give inspiration, suggesting many ideas to create a topiary from napkins:

Today I want to tell you how you can quickly and with pleasure build a topiary with your own hands for beginners - as always, I will give several master classes and explain in detail how even a beginner in needlework can create a topiary with his own hands. Topiary is a chic gift, they are also used for decoration and aromatization of premises, and such an artificial tree can also be a wonderful gift - for example, a topiary from money will attract wealth to the house.

Satin ribbons

Let's try to make a topiary from satin ribbons. If you know how to do it, then it will be very easy for you, but even if you first tackled the ribbon topiary, you will succeed. So, I'll tell you about the experience of making topiary from satin ribbons with my own hands.

Would need:

  • about six meters of satin ribbon (not already 5 cm, it is better to take several colors);
  • threads, beads, as well as a ribbon for decoration;
  • glue gun or regular superglue;
  • a stick or a piece of plastic tube for the barrel;
  • pot or bucket;
  • material for the middle - a cloth bag, crumpled newspaper or a foil ball;
  • earth, stones, rubble (I used colorful glass for the aquarium).
To make this topiary, a flower making master class is also useful - watch the video on how to make a simple rose from a satin ribbon.

We make 12-15 roses from a satin ribbon. You can use several shades of the ribbon (for example, three or four), or you can do with one shade - when I made the topiary for my younger sister to decorate the wedding photo booth, I used a beautiful ivory satin ribbon.

We make the middle - for example, we crumple the foil or an old newspaper, wrap it with threads to get a dense shape. You can wrap it with a ribbon, but there is no need - satin roses are quite lush.

The trunk can be made from a twig, plastic pipe, or any suitable stick. In extreme cases, a dense wire folded in several layers and wrapped with tape is suitable. Wrap tape around your trunk, and then glue the trunk to the crown of the tree on one side and to the pot or bucket on the other.

We string a couple of beads on a thread and “sew” the beads and a satin rose to the topiary. Sew on or stick on firmly. When the whole ball is covered with roses, you need to prepare the trunk and the pot.

You need to pour a weighting agent into the bucket, straighten all the flowers, decorate with a decorative ribbon if necessary.

From coffee

We will also make a coffee tree with our own hands. To make topiary from coffee beans you will need:

  • base (plastic ball, foam ball - sold in creative stores);
  • trunk (branch, stick, tube);
  • a pot or something instead of it (I had a beautiful earthenware jar last time, and now a regular glass);
  • coffee beans (not worth saving - good coffee has an indescribable bright aroma);
  • solution for fixation (I use a regular putty, gypsum, alabaster, and even cement are also suitable);
  • brown acrylic paint;
  • glue gun and glue sticks;
  • newspaper or junk paper;
  • burlap or other characteristic fabric;
  • decor in order to decorate the coffee topiary with your own hands.

Money

By the way, by the same logic as from coffee, you can make a topiary from coins with your own hands. Look at the photo, how beautiful it is to make a part of the topiary out of coins, and you will have a money tree topiary. You can use ordinary coins by painting them with gold paint, or you can buy special decorative coins (they will shine brightly).

The principle of production is the same as for a coffee tree - you need to take a base, cover it with paint, first partly paste over it with coins (you can do it with a lock - as if coins were shining from an open wallet), and then paste over the coffee and fix it in a pot. Unbleached linen and burlap are well suited for such a tree as a decor.

The topiary from banknotes also looks very interesting, but I will not lie - I haven’t made a beautiful topiary from banknotes yet, I’m still working on a tree from banknotes with my own hands, so if you want to make a money tree from coins or a tree luring wealth from banknotes, then watch a master class on how to make a money tree with your own hands.

An interesting tree in the style of kusudama turns out - see how to make topiary with your own hands according to step-by-step instructions.

Video bonus: two master classes on how else you can make a money tree from banknotes in an original way:

From napkins

A chic do-it-yourself napkin topiary is made literally out of nothing, you will need:
  • several bright napkins;
  • ball base (plastic or foam);
  • branch or stick;
  • gypsum (any mixture for fixing);
  • titanium glue or any polymer glue;
  • pot or glass;
  • stapler and scissors;
  • different ribbons and lace, decor and paper for the pot (can be replaced with a cloth).

So, how to make a tree with your own hands from ordinary napkins:
  1. First, we make ordinary flowers from napkins and paper clips - we fix the napkin folded several times with a stapler, cut it out in a circle, crush it in the form of petals.
  2. Flowers will need 15-20, if not enough - make more, but usually this amount is enough for a lush and beautiful topiary tree of happiness.
  3. We glue the ball with a napkin, wrap the barrel with a ribbon, dry it;
  4. We glue the ball with flowers from napkins, skillfully weaving decor into your tree from napkins with our own hands - it can be lace, beads, bows and even plastic figures, small wooden letters or words on topiary look very attractive;
  5. We breed gypsum and "plant" our tree - we immerse the finished topiary with the trunk in a pot and fill it with gypsum, hold it until it grabs.
We decorate the pot outside, decorate with plaster.

Now you know how to make a tree of happiness with your own hands and you can decorate such products to your taste.

Cones

By the way, you can make a very beautiful topiary out of cones, especially since it's quite easy to make. What you need in order to make a topiary from cones:
  • pot or glass;
  • stick, branch, tube - trunk;
  • round base for topiary - you can take a foam ball, you can cut it out of polyurethane foam, in extreme cases, a crumpled and wrapped newspaper is suitable;
  • bumps (better more);
  • brown acrylic (better glossy, dark);
  • fabric for glass decoration;
  • decor to decorate your topiary of cones - beads, strings, buttons, and so on;
  • gypsum or any mortar for fixing;
  • glue gun and rods to it;
  • scissors, brushes.
Our craft must be neat, only then it will not be a child's product, but a chic craft decor.

We begin to make topiary from cones with the decor of the glass - we cut the fabric diagonally (this way it drapes better), and we tighten it, gluing it with a pistol. By the way, do you want to avoid ugly glue marks? Glue where it will not be visible (on the bottom and inside the glass, and the walls should be simply covered).

We prepare the base - we fix the stick to the ball, paint everything with acrylic (it is better to glue it over with a newspaper first).

We glue the ball with cones, let it dry and fix it in a pot - for this we dilute the gypsum, dip the trunk of our tree and hold it until the gypsum grabs.

You can decorate the cone topiary in different ways, I prefer natural-colored beads.

You can decorate your cones topiary with ribbons, hang artificial berries or even small figurines on the cones.

Beads and beads

You can also make a charming bead topiary. It is easier to understand how to make a tree from beads, so watch the video below on how to make a topiary from beads. By the way, a master can make absolutely everything from beads - including decor, for example, berries that can be used to decorate a money tree from beads.

Now you know how to make an artificial tree with your own hands step by step. I admit honestly, each topiary made with your own hands is something special, and you will understand what it will be like only when you start decorating it. Try making holiday trees and ordinary modest trees for the interior - those that are laid out with pine cones and coffee beans can not only decorate the room, but also flavor it (you can add a couple of drops essential oil).

And my sister makes money topiary with her own hands, which lure money into the house, I will publish the guide next time - for now I can only show from photographs what such products look like. Try to make your own topiary, and surprise your loved ones with unusual gifts!
