BNTU– one of the largest and oldest universities in the Belarusian capital. The Technical University was founded on December 10, 1920. It was during this period that the development and formation of the young Belarusian republic took place. The country needed qualified specialists, so it was decided to create the Belarusian State Polytechnic Institute on the basis of the Minsk Polytechnic School (technical school).

During its formation, there were five faculties at BSPI: mechanical, cultural and technical, civil engineering, electrical engineering, chemical technology. In the first academic year, 424 people were accepted for training (305 students, 119 preparatory department students). At that time, 50 people were part of the teaching staff.

Over time, the scientific base grew, the number of faculties and specialties increased. Now at BNTU students study at 17 faculties: Automotive and Tractor Faculty (ATF); Faculty of Mining and Environmental Engineering (FGDE); mechanical engineering (MSF); mechanical and technological (MTF); Faculty of Marketing, Management, Entrepreneurship (FMMP); energy (EF); faculty information technology and robotics (FITR); Faculty of Management Technologies and Humanitarianization (FTUG); engineering and pedagogical (IPF); Faculty of Energy Construction (FES); architectural (AF); construction (SF); instrument making (PSF); Faculty of Transport Communications (FTK); military-technical (VTF); Faculty of International Cooperation (FMS); sports and technical (STF). A lyceum was created on the basis of the university, and there is a branch of the university in the city of Soligorsk. In total, BNTU trains students in 89 specialties in 119 departments. The teaching staff numbers 2,200 people, 1,050 of them have academic titles (2 academicians of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, 200 doctors, professors of science, 848 candidates of science).

Dormitory

Students of the technical university live in 15 dormitories. BNTU has its own sanatorium, driving school, food center, swimming pool, stadium, sports complex, extensive scientific library(about two million publications). A research complex has been created on the basis of the university, including 41 laboratories. The technical university includes five institutes, which are structural divisions of the university: Republican Institute innovative technologies(RIIT), Institute of Integrated Forms of Training and Monitoring of Education (IIFO and MO), branch of BNTU "Institute of Advanced Training and Retraining of Personnel in New Areas of Development of Engineering, Technology and Economics" (branch of BNTU "IPK and PC"), branch of BNTU "Intersectoral Institute for Advanced Training and Retraining of Personnel in Management and Personnel Development" (branch of BNTU "MIPC and PC"), International Institute of Remote Support (IDS). The Polytechnic plant was created and operates on the basis of the university.

Both Belarusians and foreign citizens study at the Belarusian National Technical University. Currently, more than 35,000 students from 30 different countries are studying at BNTU, of which about 20,000 are full-time students (18,833 students, 112 graduate students).

How to proceed

When entering BNTU, you must pass testing in three subjects: Russian or Belarusian language (your choice), physics, mathematics. For specialties related to architecture and design, creative exams (drawing, composition) are taken instead of physics; for economic specialties and management, “Customs Affairs” - instead of the TC in physics, a foreign language is taken.
Enrollment of applicants is carried out based on the total results of the TC, on the basis of the issued certificate, and the average score of the certificate of secondary education.

The passing score for enrollment was determined by the chosen specialty. Thus, when entering the FTUG specialty “Production Equipment Design”, the passing score was 102, for the specialty “Customs Affairs” - 245.

How much does training cost?

Education at the university is carried out on a budgetary and paid basis. The cost of training for the 2014-2015 academic year for foreign citizens varies depending on the chosen specialty, on average the price range is $2,500 -2,800.

26.4. persons who have recommendations from authorities border service(warrant officers, soldiers and sergeants doing military service under a contract in the border service; conscript military servicemen who served in the border service for at least six months; citizens discharged from military service from the border service to the reserve in the year of admission), when enrolling in the interests of the border service authorities at the military-technical faculty of BNTU (except for the specialties “Economics and enterprise management (financial support and economics of combat and economic activity troops)" and "Industrial and civil construction ( technical operation buildings and structures)" in quantity up to 30 percent from reception check digits;

26.5. persons who completed compulsory military service in the regular units of the honor guard of the Armed Forces, border guard agencies, internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (who served the established period of military service upon conscription and were discharged from compulsory military service to the reserve in the year of admission), having a recommendation official, exercising general leadership of the consolidated company of the guard of honor in the preparation and conduct of state ceremonial events, and those entering to receive their first higher education, in the amount up to 10 percent from reception check digits;

If the number of applications submitted by applicants specified in part one of this paragraph exceeds the number of places provided by BNTU for higher education on the terms of admission without competition, applicants with a higher total score, calculated based on the results of entrance examinations and average score of the education document, and if the total score is equal, they have a preferential right to enrollment, established in accordance with paragraph 27 of this Procedure. The application for consent to enrollment indicates the conditions for admission and the grounds for admission, in accordance with which the applicant wants to be enrolled.
