The plaintiff is unknown, but it is a member company National Federation music industry, which includes Sony Music, Universal Music, Warner Music, EMI, Gala Records, Navigator Records.

As representatives of RuTracker.org told Izvestia, if a block is established, users will be recommended methods to restore access. Copyright holders complain that the operators of the torrent site themselves have not been in touch for a long time, and the procedure for deleting copyrighted materials, well known to users of RuTracker.org, is unnecessarily complicated and requires the provision of a large amount of data.

Roskomnadzor employees tried and continue to try to resolve the conflict out of court. There is still hope that one of the largest sites on the Runet with more than 10 million monthly visitors and one of the largest bittorrent sites in the world will not be blocked in Russia.

According to Roskomnadzor press secretary Vadim Ampelonsky, the claim may be withdrawn. A meeting was held between representatives of RuTracker.org and the National Federation of the Music Industry, an organization one of whose members filed a lawsuit. Copyright holders put forward a number of demands. For example, RuTracker.org will install a digital fingerprinting system based on data provided by copyright holders. A system that will prevent reappearance on the site of problematic content will be installed within one week. Another meeting of copyright holders and site operators will take place next week. There is no word yet on the withdrawal of the claim for a lifetime ban.
