Is it possible to increase stomach acidity? How to increase and decrease stomach acidity at home

In some situations, patients have questions about how to increase stomach acidity at home. There are many reasons for this. When interacting with certain factors, the level of acidity changes. Over time, this leads to the development of irreversible deviations. Changes in indicators provoke the manifestation of unpleasant symptoms. Food cannot be fully digested. Essential vitamins and microelements are not absorbed. In addition, there is a risk of complications (a malignant tumor may form). It is characteristic that it is usually the low level that leads to the development of cancer. of hydrochloric acid in stomach juice.

It is very important to maintain the balance of acidity in the stomach

Symptoms and treatment of low stomach acidity have their own characteristics. It is important to know what signs accompany the deviation. This is necessary to prevent complications in a timely manner. Indicators below normal indicate dysfunction of the secretion nodes, which complicates the digestive process.

Regularly lowering the acidity will lead to a build-up of undigested particles over time. Gastric juice disinfects ingested food products. If there is a lack of acid, this process cannot be carried out fully. A favorable environment for the life of pathogenic microflora arises. Inflammatory processes appear.

Doctors identify the following main symptoms of low stomach acid:

  • change in the characteristic features of the stool;
  • feeling of bitterness in the mouth;
  • pain in the stomach;
  • nausea.

One of the symptoms of low acidity is increased gas production.

In order to find out how to increase stomach acidity, you should pay attention to all the features current state. Listed signs arise on early stage formation of a violation. They may not be expressed. Additional deviations will gradually appear.

Low stomach acidity is also characterized by:

  • decreased appetite;
  • loss of strength;
  • the presence of undigested food residues in feces;
  • unpleasant rotten odor from the mouth;
  • stomatitis.

Gradually the signs become more pronounced. The patient feels fullness in the stomach, despite the fact that the meal was long ago. The skin dries out. Rashes appear, hair falls out, and the stomach often growls. Diarrhea gives way to constipation. The immune system stops working fully.

If your breath smells bad, this may also indicate low acidity.

The patient may complain of one or several negative symptoms. If you experience unpleasant symptoms, you should contact a medical facility.

The need to normalize indicators

If signs of abnormality appear, you should visit the hospital. The doctor will tell you how to treat low stomach acidity. Hydrochloric acid is necessary for the normal functioning of the gastric sphincter and the movement of food. The component helps to disinfect food and water that enter the body.

Only at a normal level of acidity does the body absorb:

  • magnesium;
  • calcium;
  • selenium;
  • zinc.

The absorption of many minerals is possible only with normal acidity

Everyone should know how to increase stomach acidity. This is due to the fact that low levels create a favorable environment in the digestive organ for the development of microorganisms. The body becomes vulnerable to various infections.

The patient may experience anemia. There is a lack of vitamins, microelements and some enzymes. There is a risk of developing serious illnesses. Manifests allergic reaction and intoxication of the body with waste products of pathogenic bacteria.

Treatment for low stomach acidity should be started as early as possible. This is necessary to prevent the development of serious deviations. If it is violated, a person loses the ability to fully digest heavy protein foods. It's getting worse appearance. There is a visible loss of strength. The patient constantly wants to sleep.

With this pathology, loss of strength and drowsiness are observed.

If left untreated, the symptoms become more pronounced and cause great discomfort. Vomit contains remnants of undigested food.

Normalization of indicators using nutrition

Gastroenterologists are often approached by patients who want to know which foods effectively increase stomach acidity. This is no coincidence, since in the early stages of development of the disorder, to normalize the indicators, it is enough to just slightly adjust the diet.

Drug therapy for low acidity is always accompanied by diet. This is the key to a quick recovery. Nutritional recommendations are selected depending on the patient’s condition. First of all, you need to reduce the number of products taken at one time. Portions are reduced. The diet should include plenty of fruits and vegetables.

If you have low acidity, it is good to eat citrus fruits.

A diet for low stomach acidity involves eating citrus fruits. First, they are added to the diet in small quantities. Doctors recommend preparing a drink from lemon juice and water. Drink it before meals, it stimulates the digestive process. It is also advisable to give preference to kiwi and pomegranate.

With low acidity, it is useful to add gooseberries and rosehips to the diet. The products contain the required amount of amino acids and vitamins. Natural ingredients are added to teas and compotes. Fruit jelly is recommended for consumption homemade. The drink should contain a moderate amount of sugar.

The patient needs to drink large amounts of fluid. Drinking sour juices is acceptable. Products that increase acidity help normalize blood counts. short term. It is advisable to add fermented milk foods to your diet.

Fermented milk products will also help normalize acidity.

You should not add fatty or high-calorie foods to your diet. Worth giving preference light dishes. Acceptable use:

  • lean fish cooked in a double boiler;
  • boiled chicken;
  • vegetables and fruits, previously peeled.

When eating food, you should wash it down clean water. The diet should contain foods with sufficient amounts of vitamin C. They help normalize acidity levels.

Your diet should include more foods with vitamin C

Increasing performance with medications

Signs of low stomach acidity are a good reason to consult a doctor. Therapeutic measures include the use of medications and adherence to a strict diet. The tablets are prescribed by the doctor after diagnosis.

With a regular increase in acidity levels over a long period of time, coping with the disorder will not be easy.

  • Histamine;

Patients may be prescribed Heparin

IN in case of emergency The patient should take hydrochloric acid tablets. The medicine will help you fully digest food and eliminate negative symptoms. A gastroenterologist can prescribe pills.

Drugs that increase gastric acidity can be prescribed only after an accurate diagnosis has been established. A whole range of research is needed. Antispasmodics may be recommended. Most often - No-shpa.

The therapy is complex. Always combined with unconventional methods and special nutrition. Antibacterial agents may be needed. They are assigned a course of several names at once. The doctor also prescribes pills to eliminate nausea and the gag reflex.

The treatment regimen is selected depending on the individual characteristics of a particular patient. Required for use vitamin complexes. They are necessary to restore the immune system. Physiotherapy is prescribed. Surgery may be needed.

In some cases, antispasmodics are necessary, for example, No-shpa

Medicines for low stomach acidity, like any other drugs, can provoke the appearance of individual intolerance and side effects. It is important to adhere to the recommended dosages. The production of hydrochloric acid is stimulated by:

  • Etimizole;
  • Pentagastrina.

Preparations for low stomach acidity contain a large number of various additives. When you see a doctor, you should tell him about the presence of any allergic reactions.

The drug Limontar helps increase the level of acid production in the stomach

Alternative medicine

It is no coincidence that many patients are trying to figure out how to increase stomach acidity folk remedies. Natural medicines rarely cause side effects. They are used together with medications.

Apples and cabbage are highly effective. To prepare the remedy you will need to take in equal quantities:

  • apples;
  • red currants;
  • cabbage

All components are ground using a meat grinder. The resulting pulp is placed in a glass container. Place in a dark and cool place. Use when the fermentation process has begun. Take half an hour before meals.

Cabbage with apples is very healthy

Treatment of low stomach acidity with folk remedies is very popular. Medicines are prepared independently at home. They enhance the effect of medications. The patient normalizes hydrochloric acid levels much faster. Patients are always prescribed mineral water therapy. The drink must be non-carbonated. Special herbs are recommended for low stomach acidity. Based on them, you can prepare tea, decoction or tincture. Medicinal plants include:

  • sagebrush;
  • yarrow;
  • anise;
  • plantain.

To normalize acidity, you can prepare a decoction of yarrow

The fees can be collected independently, away from roads and industrial enterprises, or purchased at a pharmacy. Before any therapeutic measures, you should undergo diagnostics and consult with a gastroenterologist.

Persistent heartburn, acid regurgitation, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) are different names for the same disease. This disease is associated with increased acidity, which can appear after a heavy meal or become chronic. As a rule, this disease is treated very simply. However, be sure to consult with your doctor before starting treatment, even if you choose safe methods, especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Steps

Effective treatment

    Avoid trigger foods and drinks. You can monitor your condition yourself, noticing which foods make you feel bad. Write down what you eat and observe how you feel within 1 hour after eating. If something you eat makes your condition worse, you should eliminate the food from your diet. Eliminate the following foods from your diet:

    Raise the head of the bed. If possible, raise the head of the bed by 15–20 centimeters. Gravity will keep the acid in the stomach. Do not use pillows for this purpose as this will only increase intra-abdominal pressure and make the problem even worse.

    Get rid of extra pounds. Losing weight will help reduce pressure on the lower esophageal sphincter, which will prevent stomach acid from flowing into the esophagus.

    Eat slowly. This will help the stomach digest food easier and faster. Food will not stagnate in the stomach and will not put pressure on the sphincter.

    Make sure there is no pressure on the stomach. Pressure will cause acidity to increase. Increased intra-abdominal pressure is very often a consequence of a hiatal hernia (this is a displacement of part of the stomach into the mediastinum), pregnancy, constipation or excess weight.

    Drink ginger tea. On this moment There is no evidence that ginger treats acidity, however ginger does seem to calm the stomach. You can use ginger tea bags or use fresh ginger. Take one teaspoon of fresh ginger, add boiling water and leave for five minutes. Drink tea at any time during the day, but preferably 20-30 minutes before meals.

    Make changes to your diet. Although not proven, many experts believe that eating too late can worsen symptoms of acidity. Don't eat 2-3 hours before bedtime. A full stomach puts pressure on the upper sphincter, which normally prevents acid from entering the esophagus from the stomach. Therefore, take your last meal 2-3 hours before bedtime.

    Be careful with the calf raise exercise. The calf raise exercise is used by chiropractors and has no direct evidence of effectiveness. Besides exists proof that this exercise can cause reflux. So “raising on your toes” is more likely to harm than help.

    Don't rely on mustard. There is no evidence that mustard helps normalize acidity.

Understanding and Treating Acidity with Medication

    Find out the symptoms. Before you start taking medications that reduce acidity, make sure that you really have high acidity. Symptoms of high acidity:

    • heartburn;
    • sour taste in the mouth;
    • bloating;
    • black stool (from internal bleeding);
    • burning or prolonged hiccups;
    • nausea;
    • dry cough;
    • Dysphagia (a feeling of being “stuck” or blocking the passage of food through the mouth, pharynx, or esophagus).
  1. Take medications as needed. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding and experience symptoms that indicate you have acidity, consult your doctor. If you have tried numerous herbal and other natural treatments and are not seeing results, you may need drug treatment. Medicines can help you reduce stomach acid. If left untreated, hyperacidity can lead to esophagitis, esophageal bleeding, ulcers and a condition called Barrett's esophagus, which increases the risk of esophageal cancer.

    • If you are taking medications that increase acidity, contact your doctor to change your prescription if possible.
  2. Take antacids. These drugs can be purchased without a prescription. They neutralize acid. Antacids usually provide short-term relief. If you cannot do without antacids after two weeks of treatment with them, you should definitely consult your doctor. Long-term use of antacids can lead to mineral imbalance in the body, diarrhea and kidney disease.

    • Follow the manufacturer's instructions and don't overdo it. Even antacids, if you take them long time, can cause unpleasant consequences.
  3. Take H2 blockers. These drugs reduce the secretion of stomach acid. H2 blockers - cimetidine (Histodil), famotidine (Quamatel) and ranitidine (Zantac). If you use drugs from this group in low doses, you do not need a prescription. If in higher doses, you will most likely need a prescription, which you can get from your doctor. If you are using H2 blockers, follow the manufacturer's instructions. Side effects of this group of drugs.

Various diseases digestive system accompanied by a disorder in the secretion of digestive enzymes and hydrochloric acid. In such a situation, in order to eliminate discomfort and improve the processes of assimilation of food, a specialist will decide how to increase acidity in the stomach. Not only synthetic ones can come to the rescue pharmaceutical products, but also recipes folk wisdom. For thousands of years, they have contributed to facilitating the functioning of the digestive structures.

Hydrochloric acid in the stomach performs many functions, the most important of which, of course, is participation in the breakdown of nutrients coming from outside. In addition, it actively destroys pathogenic microflora. Therefore, when gastric acidity is within the age norm, the human body is well protected.

A significant decrease in pH is observed during exacerbation of many pathologies of gastrointestinal tract structures, for example, gastritis, pancreatitis. Other causes of this disorder may be:

  • uncorrected diet;
  • abuse of tobacco and alcohol products;
  • taking certain subgroups of medications;
  • severe stressful situations.

Symptoms that the juice in the digestive structures is not produced in the proper amount are:

  • change in appetite – its significant decrease;
  • the presence of an unpleasant aftertaste, belching after eating;
  • disturbances in bowel movements - the presence of pieces of undigested food in the stool;
  • constant bloating;
  • repulsive, putrid odor from the mouth;
  • discomfort and heaviness in the epigastric region.

The specialist decides what to do and how to improve the production of hydrochloric acid after a thorough diagnosis and clarification of the reasons why a malfunction has formed in the digestive structures.

Pharmacotherapy: medications that increase acidity

The pharmacy chain currently offers the widest selection of drugs that increase the concentration of acid in the stomach. For mild forms of disorders, herbal-based medications will be recommended - mint, fennel, wormwood or calamus. They have the ability to gently enhance the production of hydrochloric acid.

IN critical situations It is permissible to take capsules containing a ready-made concentrate with acid - strictly as prescribed by the attending gastroenterologist. Such therapy has many limitations and contraindications.

As a rule, in order to improve the activity of the glands that produce digestive juices, experts recommend complex pharmacotherapy:

If a synthetic or natural product or complex of drugs is selected optimally, then the acidity in the digestive system increases in the required time frame and without negative consequences for the patient’s well-being. Self-medication is absolutely unacceptable.

Recipes of folk wisdom

Many people, once faced with side effects from synthetic medications, prefer to resort to traditional recipes in situations with low gastric acidity.

To improve the absorption of eaten foods, people have long resorted to using juices - before meals, a tablespoon of freshly squeezed carrots, and after meals - 15 ml of blackcurrant juice. Instead of carrots, you can resort to aloe.

It is imperative to agree on how to increase stomach acidity at home with a gastroenterologist. Not everyone folk recipes safe. Some ingredients may cause undesirable effects.

The following phytocollections are in demand and effective:

  • pour 300 g of sugar into a container with 0.5 kg of red rowan fruits, leave in a cool place for at least 4.5–5 hours, then boil the mixture in a steam bath for 30–40 minutes, and strain the resulting mixture and take 5 ml before eating;
  • Grind the pre-collected and dried leaves of yarrow and wormwood thoroughly, pour 20 g of the prepared mixture into 200 ml of boiling water, stand for 30–40 minutes and, after filtering, take three times a day;
  • Drink 1 tsp in the morning on an empty stomach. apple essence in combination with 0.5 tbsp. warm water;
  • chop 2 kg of white cabbage leaves, as well as 0.5 kg of red currants, mix and leave in the cupboard on the shelf until juice is obtained, after filtering, consume 100 ml three times a day before meals.

Tinctures of anise, viburnum, dandelion rhizomes, and eleutherococcus help improve the production of digestive juices.

Diet therapy

In addition to how to increase stomach acidity using folk remedies, the specialist during the consultation must discuss with the patient the rules of proper nutrition.

Dishes are served warm, their consistency is puree; only porridge is acceptable as a side dish. Heat treatment is only permissible: boiling and steaming. While frying and baking will not contribute to the deterioration of the stomach. It is recommended to master the technique of making soufflé.

For moderately low gastric acidity, the following list of products is recommended:

  • low-fat fermented milk - kefir, fermented baked milk, certain varieties of hard cheeses;
  • egg omelettes;
  • low-fat varieties of chicken, meat, fish;
  • jellied meats and jellied dishes;
  • baking from yeast-free dough;
  • vegetables that do not have a strong taste;
  • grain crops other than pearl barley;
  • a small amount of butter.

Chocolate and citrus fruits, drupes and dried fruits, legumes and marinades, smoked meats and pickles should be completely excluded from the diet.

In addition to all of the above, it is recommended to replace strong coffee and tea with mineral waters - Smirnovskaya, Essentuki No. 17, No. 4, Slavyanovskaya mineral water. Thanks to them, the acidity becomes increased to an acceptable concentration. Such waters must be taken correctly - 10 minutes before meals, in small sips. The duration of the treatment course is 1.5–2 months.

By carefully following all the recommendations given by the attending physician - pharmacotherapy, diet therapy, lifestyle correction, a person feels a significant improvement in his own well-being. The digestive system begins to work as required.

Most diseases of the gastrointestinal tract are accompanied by impaired production of hydrochloric acid in the body. Reduced fermentation is associated with disruption of the glandular organs. To increase the acidity of the stomach, it is necessary to eat suitable foods, reduce the load on the stomach, and also use special groups of drugs that stimulate the production of gastric juice.

A decrease in the level of acidity in the stomach is associated with dysfunction of the glandular organs that take part in the breakdown of food. Due to their weak activity, the production of digestive enzymes, hydrochloric acid and pepsins is reduced.

Low acidity in the gastrointestinal tract leads to the accumulation of substances in the body that have not been digested. This is subsequently reflected in the general well-being of a person. Heaviness appears in the stomach and intestines, gas formation increases. You may experience bloating and flatulence. Such symptoms appear first.

Since insufficient secretion cannot fully break down incoming products into the body, the passage of food mass through the gastrointestinal tract decreases. Peristalsis of the entire digestive system and motility are disrupted. The entire digestive process slows down, which can lead to stagnation of food as well as various toxins in the human body.

The patient begins to feel discomfort in the epigastric area. Due to the accumulation of food mass in the stomach, belching begins. Which allows you to remove some of the gases. This symptom can serve as a specific indicator. Low acidity in the stomach does not cause hiccups or heartburn.

The patient may have problems with bowel movements. This symptom occurs because normal acidity destroys most of the various bacteria and microorganisms that enter the gastrointestinal tract along with food. Therefore, the likelihood of intestinal infections increases. Weak production of pepsin reduces the function of breaking down nutrients and their absorption into the human body. Thus, diarrhea caused by an infectious infection can be replaced by constipation, which arose due to impaired metabolism and a decrease in the passage of food through the intestines.

As a result of low acidity, the body breaks down fats, proteins and essential microelements (iron, potassium, copper, zinc) much worse. Their deficiency reduces a person’s weight, can cause anemia, and also provoke the development of acute and chronic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.

Folk recipes

Folk remedies can very effectively improve the production of hydrochloric acid and pepsin. Most of them can be prepared at home, and some can be purchased at the pharmacy.

Schisandra. The ground seed of this plant will activate fermentation. It is enough to take 2 grams of seed powder per day. Juice can be made from lemongrass fruits. It helps relieve pain symptoms in the stomach.

Preserved in alcohol walnuts also used to increase acidity. You need to take a dozen unripe nuts, cut them into small slices and place them in a glass jar. Then you need to pour 500 ml of vodka or brandy into it, tightly sealing the jar. This remedy must be infused for 14 days in a dark place at a temperature of 20-22 degrees. The tincture is filtered and consumed three times a day. Dilute a tablespoon of nut tincture in water and drink after meals.

You can prepare candied red rowan. Also, stimulation of hydrochloric acid production can be increased using cabbage juice, not large quantities apple cider vinegar diluted in water.

Medications

To treat low acidity, the gastroenterologist determines medications that activate the patient’s glandular organs. There are significantly fewer drugs available to increase the production of hydrochloric acid in the stomach than to reduce it.

Your doctor may prescribe the use of Plantaglucide. It has anesthetic and anti-inflammatory properties. It should be dissolved in boiled water. Take 3 times a day 30 minutes before meals.

Limontar. This medicine contains citric and succinic acid. They stimulate the production of hydrochloric acid in the digestive system and normalize metabolism. Take 1 tablet 2 times a day. Ortho Taurine Ergo. This remedy should be taken 1 capsule no more than 3 times a day on an empty stomach, depending on age. It should be washed down big amount water.

Medicines containing wormwood are also prescribed, peppermint or fennel tincture. A gastroenterologist may recommend adding mineral water to your diet. Suitable mineral water is determined by its microelements composition. Typically, Slavyanskaya, Izhevskaya, Essentuki, Smirnovskaya are used to treat acidity.

Diet

Following a diet with low acidity in the stomach is mandatory. In order to normalize the production of digestive enzymes and hydrochloric acid, it is necessary to reduce the amount of food that enters the body at one time.
So a large amount of food has a negative effect on fermentation. Since the glandular organs are depressed and not in good shape, a large amount of incoming food will not stimulate them.

During a low-acid diet, doctors recommend eating more fresh fruits, which contain weakly concentrated acids.

It is best to eat citrus fruits (tangerines, oranges, grapefruit), you can start eating lemon in small quantities. Lemon juice can be diluted with water and stimulate the digestive system before meals. The patient can also eat pomegranate, kiwi, sour apples and pears.

Currants, gooseberries, rose hips, and sea buckthorn are very useful for low acidity of the digestive system. They contain many amino acids and vitamins that activate the glandular organs and increase fermentation. Sea buckthorn can be consumed in its pure form, but not much. It is better to add it to tea or compote. Apricots stimulate acid production well, different types grapes

Fruit jelly is beneficial for the body. Preferably without a lot of sugar. The patient also needs to drink more fluids. The diet should include sour juices. They do not have to be concentrated; first, they can be diluted with water. After a while, when the acidity begins to increase, it will be possible to not dilute the juice.

It is also useful to eat dried fruits. The patient should eat more vegetables, which are quickly digested, but have enzymes that stimulate the glands. Plant fiber is well digested in the gastrointestinal tract, which will speed up the movement of food mass. To increase the level of acidity in the stomach, you need to eat fresh greens - onions, parsley, dill, cilantro, fennel. It is beneficial to consume garlic in small quantities.

You can start eating canned foods, as they may contain small amounts of vinegar and citric acid. You should increase the amount of consumption of legumes, cabbage, cucumbers, you can eat radishes and mushrooms.
Soup and borscht can be prepared from meat of moderate fat content. Pork can be used, but preferably without lard.

It is necessary to increase the intake of sodium, calcium, potassium and magnesium into the body.
Despite the fact that alcoholic drinks increase acidity in the body, they are not recommended for use if you have low acidity. Only those drinks that contain a small proportion of alcohol (wine). This is due to the fact that due to weak fermentation in the body, alcohol will remain in the digestive system for a long time, maintaining its structure. If the alcohol is not broken down, it can burn the mucous membrane of the stomach and then enter the duodenum. As a result, more dangerous pathologies may worsen.

Very often people complain of stomach diseases that are caused by low acidity. It turns out that low stomach acidity can cause more problems for a person than high acidity. This pathology is observed very often in medical practice. Experts know how to increase stomach acidity. To solve this problem, it is better to contact a doctor.

Gastroenterologist Mikhail Vasilievich:

“It is known that for the treatment of the gastrointestinal tract (ulcers, gastritis, etc.) there are special medications that are prescribed by doctors. But we will not talk about them, but about those medications that you can use yourself and at home...”

Determination of acidity level

Normally, gastric juice contains about 0.4 - 0.5% hydrochloric acid. This indicator will change subject to the development of any pathology of the digestive tract. Acidity can change even to zero level.

Why is hydrochloric acid needed? It is needed to destroy pathogenic microflora that penetrates the digestive system. This substance also starts all digestive processes. If there is not enough acid in the gastric secretion, there will be a significant weakening of the protective mechanisms.

Increased acidity is found in patients who suffer from constipation, sour belching, a feeling of heaviness after eating, heartburn, and pain in the stomach area.

If the patient has low acidity, he will experience the following symptoms:

  • unpleasant taste in the mouth;
  • allergies to certain foods;
  • bowel disorders (constipation, diarrhea);
  • nausea in the morning;
  • layering of nails;
  • belching;
  • anemia;
  • rumbling in the stomach;
  • flatulence;
  • dilation of blood vessels on the cheeks and nose;
  • loss of appetite.

A reduced level of acidity can occur due to an incorrect lifestyle and diet. Not the least role is played by the hereditary factor.

Why is low acidity dangerous?

With low acidity, proteins cannot be fully absorbed. This is dangerous due to decreased immunity due to the concentration of breakdown products inside the stomach. At the same time, the toxic effects of these products on the body are noted. A decrease in immunity leads to the development of various pathological processes in the body. The man starts to get sick viral diseases, various mycoses (nails, dermis, mucous membranes).

If acidity is low, vitamins and minerals are less absorbed inside the intestines. This violation manifests itself as follows:

  • fragility, dry hair;
  • dryness of the dermis of the hands;
  • dilation of blood vessels in the nose, cheeks;
  • peeling, brittle nails;
  • anemia;
  • acne formation.

Low acidity stool contains undigested food residues. After eating, a dull pain may appear in the stomach area. Heartburn, a feeling of fullness and heaviness also occur.

Treatment

If gastritis (without erosions) has low acidity, treatment will include the following points:

  • replacement therapy. It is carried out through pepsidil, acedin-pepsin, gastric juice;
  • antacids. They are prescribed by specialists as directed;
  • destruction of Helicobacter pylori. For this purpose, De-nol, Metronidazole, and various antibiotics are used).

You can increase the acidity level using hydrochloric acid preparations. The doctor may also prescribe medications that stimulate its production. The course of treatment should be selected by a specialist, who also controls the entire process. The doctor can prescribe diagnostics over time.

In addition to drug therapy, the patient will need a special diet. Dietary nutrition will improve the results of low acidity therapy.

Diet that can increase acidity

Among the many products, experts have identified those that have a stimulating effect on the production of gastric juice. So, in order to significantly increase the acidity level in a short period of time, you can use the following means:

  • horseradish root;
  • chilli;
  • strong tea (black);
  • coffee.

Experts do not advise abusing the above products.

The following products can be used to increase acidity:

  • honey. This beekeeping product is sufficient in a volume of 0.5 teaspoon. You can consume honey pure, dissolved in water, preferably before meals (30 minutes before). Many people advise taking honey + oil;
  • sour fruits, berries (apple, currant, kiwi, gooseberry);
  • citrus;
  • sour drinks (compotes, jelly made from sea buckthorn, rose hips;
  • alcohol. Allowed to be consumed in small doses.

Apricots have a very positive effect on stimulating stomach acidity. This product can be eaten fresh or dried. Juices from this fruit are also recommended.

In addition to apricot, grapes (white, fleshy) will help increase acidity. It is advisable to consume it before meals, 200 grams is enough.

To eliminate vitamin deficiency and increase gastric acidity, you can drink lingonberry water (half a glass is enough), lingonberries (1 tsp).

The following products will help normalize low acidity:

  • carrot juice;
  • cucumbers;
  • beans;
  • cilantro;
  • parsley;
  • green onion);
  • fennel;
  • garlic.

Traditional methods for increasing acidity

To increase acidity, you can prepare your own products. Traditional medicine offers a lot of remedies:

  1. Schisandra. It can be used in the form of juice (1 tablespoon), squeezed from fruits, seed powder (2 g). You need to take the medicine after eating, after about half an hour. This remedy normalizes acidity and helps eliminate pain inside the stomach.
  2. Red rowan. Mix the fruits (500 g) with sugar (300 g), let it brew. After 5 hours, boil the infused mixture (30 minutes). Take the medicine before meals.
  3. Currants + apples + cabbage. To prepare the mixture, you should select sour apples (0.5 kg), red currants (0.5 kg), cabbage (2 kg). All components must be ground in a meat grinder and placed in glassware for insisting. Take three times (before meals).
  4. An infusion of a mixture of herbs. To prepare it you need yarrow and wormwood. Them, in the amount of 1 tbsp. spoon, pour boiling water (1 glass), let it brew. After half an hour, we strain it and take it 3 times a day.
  5. Tincture of a mixture of herbs (calamus, aloe, dandelion root, anise, chokeberry, viburnum).
  6. Plantain. You can make a salad from it. You can also use the juice from this plant.
  7. Tincture on unripe nuts. We prepare it from nuts (10 - 15 pieces), vodka (0.5 l). The jar should be closed tightly and allowed to brew for two weeks. You need to drink after straining in a volume of 1 teaspoon per glass of water. This remedy also exhibits an analgesic effect.
  8. Apple vinegar. This acidity-increasing “drug” is recommended to be taken in the morning. One teaspoon per half glass of water is enough.

Various remedies offered traditional medicine, should be used after consultation with your doctor.

Use of mineral waters

  1. The waters of the Zheleznovodsk resort (“Slavyanovskaya”, “Smirnovskaya”) are very popular. They contain the following elements: bicarbonates, sulfates, magnesium salts, calcium salts, chlorides. The course of treatment is not very long (30 – 35 days).
  2. “Essentuki” (No. 4, No. 7). This water contains bromine, boron, potassium and magnesium cations. It is recommended to take about 50 – 200 ml per day.
  3. "Izhevskaya". It contains sulfates, calcium, chlorine, magnesium, sodium.

For use mineral waters There are also a number of contraindications. Treatment with this method should be carried out under the supervision of a gastroenterologist.
